There are two key aims behind organising this event.
Firstly: to organise an evening where all guests are entertained and go away feeling that they have had really good value for money.
Secondly: to raise funds for both for the development of Havant Hockey Club and the opportunities it provides for the local community, and for local charities.
Havant Hockey Club have a “Four Year Vision” to achieve four main goals, all of which require substantial funding if we are to succeed, and we are already well under way to achieving these targets, which are:
1). Our elite men’s 1st XI’s once again play in the National Premier Division, thus competing and winning at the highest level.
2). Our elite ladies’ 1st XI play in National League Hockey as a stepping stone to the Premiership.
3). To further develop our junior membership, which is already one of the largest in the country. We aim to give an opportunity for anyone to play the game we love and with an overall aim to produce international hockey players who might also represent Great Britain in the 2012 London Olympics.
4). To produce improved facilities whereby we have our own clubhouse adjacent to two all-weather pitches to strengthen the club and help with the development of our overall vision
The main charity we will be donating to this year will be Langstone Sailability. The charity provides a facility for people with disabilities to experience the fun and friendship of sailing with other like minded people in a safe, well supervised environment.
